Woodbury police reports: Items taken from vehicles

Woodbury police arrested a St. Paul man and a Landfall woman outside the Hudson Road Walmart July 22 after staff said the woman concealed several items in her purse and the man replaced the bar code sticker on a $89 rug with a tag for a $17 rug.

A Woodbury resident reported at 1:45 p.m. July 23 a money clip containing various licenses and his debit card was taken from his vehicle parked in the garage of his Donegal Drive home.

A Woodbury man who spent three years abroad returned to his Sherwood Court home to find more than $11,000 worth of jewelry, collectible coins and St. Paul police memorabilia missing from a safe, according to a police report filed July 24. The man told police the items may have gone missing while his wife was traveling abroad for several weeks more than a year ago, leaving their 18-year-old daughter alone in the house. Police advised that there would be no investigation because the items were taken sometime over three years and there was little evidence.

Gordmans staff reported at 2:20 p.m. a man left the store with $120 of unpaid merchandise.

A Woodbury man reported around 7 a.m. July 24 a debit card was stolen from an unlocked vehicle at his Winterberry Drive home. A $200 charge was declined at Kwik Trip, but a $50 charge went through before the man canceled the card.

A St. Paul man allegedly removed a hypodermic needle from his pocket and threw it on the ground during an arrest on suspicion of shoplifting from the Valley Creek Plaza Kohl's store at 7:15 p.m. July 24.

A wallet containing a debit card, driver's license, medical card and credit card were taken from an unlocked vehicle overnight on the 7800 block of Drake Drive, according to an early-morning report the resident made July 25.

A $500 pair of glasses and two credit cards were taken from an unlocked vehicle on the 700 block of Landau Drive, according to a report made the morning of July 25. The owner of the vehicle also reported that his credit card history showed about $30 in fraudulent purchases.

About $5 in change was stolen out of an unlocked vehicle on Eagle Ridge Road overnight, according to a report the resident reported at 8 a.m. July 25.

A Woodbury woman reported at 12:30 p.m. July 25 that her unlocked vehicle appeared to have been rummaged through while parked overnight on the 7900 block of Drake Drive. Although paperwork in the car was strewn around, the only item reported missing were her sunglasses.

A wallet left in an unlocked vehicle parked on the 7100 block of Victoria Road was stolen overnight, according to a report filed the afternoon of July 25. The owner told police she noticed the wallet was missing when she tried to pay for a meal.

Drunken driving

Police discovered an open bottle of vodka and glass pipe with apparent methamphetamine residue while searching the car of a a Woodbury Man arrested for suspected drunken driving, according to a July 25 report. The arrest, the report says, stemmed from a police response to a domestic call at a home on the 2100 block of Cameron Drive, where they found the man sitting in his car with bloodshot eyes. He allegedly admitted to drinking.
