123-mph chase leads to county jail time

It's two weeks of straight time in the Washington County jail for a Brooklyn Park motorcyclist who fled police at 123 mph and got caught later.

Busuri Busuri, 26, was convicted of felony fleeing a peace officer in Washington County District Court in late May.

A year earlier, a group of motorcycles was speeding and passing other vehicles on the shoulder, while traveling on eastbound Interstate 94, near Manning Avenue in Woodbury. Minnesota State Patrol observed multiple moving violations, but after Busuri accelerated to a speed of 123 mph and entered Wisconsin, the trooper discontinued pursuit.

Busuri's motorcycle was located at Flying J truckstop in Roberts, Wis., and the trooper made the 19-mile drive east of Woodbury and an arrest.

Busuri received credit for one day served in Washington County jail, he can serve the other 14 days to which he is sentenced on work release or Sentence to Service, and he'll be on probation for three years.
