Alleged meth user is due in court Feb. 18
After a traffic stop yielded a drug search in Woodbury, Christopher John Bennett has been charged with fifth-degree possession of methamphetamine.
The 38-year-old Mounds View man is due in court Feb. 18 to face the felony charges.
According to the complaint;
On July 28, 2015, a Woodbury police officer on routine patrol along Valley Creek Road learned of a driver with a suspended license, initiating a traffic stop.
Bennett also had previously failed to appear for fines and the officer decided to arrest and book the man at the Washington County jail.
Bennett admitted to having a crack pipe in the center console of his vehicle, and a K-9 officer conducted a search.
Officers found a broken glass pipe in the rear of the van, two clear plastic baggies with a crystal substance that tested positive for meth, and a long glass pipe with a bubble shape in the console.
Bennett admitted he is a meth user and that he purchased the drugs with cash he earned from working.
