Homeless beggar allegedly possesses meth on street corner
A homeless man who was begging in Woodbury faces felony drug charges this week.
Scott Edward Brownwell, 33, has no permanent address and was reported by a passerby on a ramp near the intersection of Interstate 494 and Valley Creek Road.
When asked by police he couldn't find his ID. When police were allowed to search his backpack for identification, they found he had two small, green Ziploc baggies containing white powder residue, syringes with needles, and two bent spoons, according to the complaint in Washington County District Court.
The powder tested positive as methamphetamine.
Brownwell's street-corner sign read: "Lost everything but my faith, anything helps. God bless."
