Woodbury man accused in sexual assault case

A Woodbury man faces one count of felony criminal sexual conduct for allegedly forcing himself on a woman until his one of his children interrupted the act.

Nicholas Paul Blau, 31, was charged July 16 with one count of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct following a July 9 incident at his Eagle Trace Lane home.

According to a criminal complaint, the woman -- who is known to Blau -- came to his home, where he met her, threw her on a couch, disrobed her and fondled her. During the incident, one of Blau’s children entered the basement, where the alleged assault was occurring.

The woman got up, clothed herself and left the house with the child. Blau later sent the woman a text apologizing for for what happened, saying he “didn’t know what came over him,” according to the complaint.

Police went to his home on July 15, where he allegedly admitted to assaulting the woman and that the incident had been interrupted by one of his children. He also admitted to texting an apology, the complaint states.

Blau was arraigned July 17 in Washington County District Court and makes his first appearance Aug. 21.
