Woodbury police reports from July 3-8.

Woodbury police responded July 2 to a report of a suspicious man at Carver Lake Beach. The man was seen emerging from a pond, dropping an item in a garbage can, and then warning a person to stay away from the can, saying it was dangerous. Police noted that the man had left notes, wet clothing and a broken laptop computer in the area. He was transported to Regions Hospital for an evaluation.

A St. Paul man reported July 3 that his wallet was stolen from a locker at Xperience Fitness, 1555 Queens Drive. Shortly after the theft, unauthorized purchases at Target and Chipotle were detected.

A Cottage Grove woman reported July 4 that her boyfriend’s pants and wallet were stolen by a group of men he met at Cowboy Jack’s, 1690 Woodlane Drive. The victim, a St. Paul Park resident, went to the restroom, where a group of five other men asked for a cigarette. The man later went outside and the group followed him, surrounded him and forced him to a room at the nearby Red Roof Inn, where the theft occurred. The victim did not want to pursue charges.

An anonymous caller reported July 5 that a female passenger exited a vehicle at 2:37 a.m. at McDonald’s, 1759 Weir Drive, and urinated next to the drive-thru. Police were unable to locate the suspect.

A Woodbury man reported July 5 that his backpack was stolen from his truck. The theft may have occurred outside Woodbury. Missing items included clothes, CDs and prescription pain medication.

Police responded to a burglary in the 6800 block of Sandlewood Road. A resident returned home from camping to find the residence burglarized. Three flat-screen TVs, a Nintendo Wii, a laptop computer, and iPod and jewelry were among the stolen belongings. Entry may have been made through a second-story patio window.

A woman staying at the Red Roof Inn on July 7 reported that an acquaintance took her identification, credit card and a bottle of vodka. The victim did not wish for help from the police.

Police were called July 7 to a Woodbury location for a stolen motorcycle. The motorcycle, a 1984 Harley-Davidson shovel-head lowrider, was valued at $8,000.

A resident in the 2200 block of Cottage Grove Drive reported that an iPad and a laptop computer were stolen from his home while he and his family were out of town. Numerous people had access to the home during the week, which prevented police from collecting evidence. Loss: $2,600.

Woodbury police assisted Minnesota State Patrol troopers on July 8 on a traffic stop at Walmart, 10240 Hudson Road. Stolen merchandise was discovered inside the vehicle. Two occupants of the vehicle, a Stillwater woman and a Minneapolis man, were jailed in Stillwater.
