United Properties and Jerry’s Enterprises will break ground on Bielenberg Gardens in Woodbury later this month, with an official announcement of the new grocery store’s name.

The retail development at Radio Drive and Bailey Road will be anchored by a 65,000 square foot grocer and a liquor store operated by Jerry’s Enterprises.

The center will also include a 12,300 square foot multi-tenant building and 10 additional retail lots.

Bielenberg Gardens has been part of the city’s Phase 2 planning for the past two years and was officially approved by council in September 2013.

The 30-acre development is expected to be complete by spring 2015 and will likely include retail shops, restaurants, a bank and a gas station.

Bielenberg Gardens is adjacent to the Bielenberg Sports Center, which is currently undergoing a $22 million renovation. It’s expected to service southern Woodbury along with northern Cottage Grove residents.

The groundbreaking is slated for Wednesday, June 25.
