City: Cabela's opening to bring heavy traffic to Radio/I-94 area

How eager are shoppers to get their first look inside the Woodbury Cabela’s store?

By the look of it: very.

The city of Woodbury on Tuesday sent an email warning residents of the traffic impact along the Interstate 94-Radio Drive corridor during Thursday’s grand opening at the outdoor retailer. According to the email, Cabela’s has been working with Woodbury police to manage traffic flow during the grand opening.

“Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes whenever possible,” the email states.

The store’s doors open at 11 a.m. on Thursday. The city email states the heavy traffic flow will last through the weekend.

The city also hinted that drivers may want to keep alternate routes on their radar for a while.

“Increased traffic in the area is anticipated for the first three months after opening,” the email states.
