Motorist found dead after Lake Elmo crash

A 22-year-old man was killed early Wednesday after a single-car crash in Lake Elmo.

According to a Washington County Sheriff's Office news release, 911 dispatchers received a report at 3:12 a.m. of a crash in the 3000 block of Lake Elmo Avenue North. Deputies discovered the man, an Oak Park Heights resident, had been ejected from the vehicle.

Lake Elmo firefighters and rescue crews also responded since the vehicle was leaking fuel.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by the sheriff's office.

The man's identity was being withheld pending family notification.
