Daniel Homstad, 27, of Minneapolis is in critical condition following an one-vehicle accident at Lake and Courtly roads in Woodbury.

Woodbury Public Safety responded to an accident Tuesday at 3:23 p.m.

According to John Wallgren, fire commander, Homstad, in an SUV, was going westbound on Lake Road at high speed when he lost control and hit a street semaphore at the intersection.

The cause of the accident is undeterimined at this time, said Michelle Okada, Woodbury Public Safety spokeswoman.

After being extricated from the vehicle, Homstad was transported to Regions Hospital with serious injuries.

As of Thursday morning Homstad remained in critical condition, Okada said.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

Okada said there was no indication of alcohol.
