Former Woodbury city attorney dies

The city attorney who helped advise the city of Woodbury from its very beginnings through its biggest boom years died Dec. 30 at the age of 69.

James Lammers, a partner in the Eckberg Lammers law firm, served as counsel for the city from 1967 to 2005. The city was incorporated in 1967.

Woodbury officials who worked closely over the years with him recalled his sincerity and commitment to the city.

"He had a very high IQ and a very high EQ - emotional intelligence," outgoing Woodbury Mayor Bill Hargis said.
