The following information has been received from university or family sources.

- The following students from Afton and Woodbury were graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Stout, Menomonie in December of 2009: Peter Bauer, with a B.S. in information technology management; Nina Dubois, B.S. in apparel design and development; Michelle Flicker, M.S. in mental health counseling; Sally Halverson, B.S. in hotel, restaurant and tourism; Lindsey Hegg, B.S. in special education; Dale Wolken, B.S. in management.

- The following Afton and Woodbury students received the Chancellor's Award for the fall 2009 semester at the University of Wisconsin - Stout, Menomonie: Phillip Cahall, Daniel Churchill, Crystal Cordie, Brianna Cornwell, Davonte Davis, Jessica Emslander, Sarah Fischer, Meridy Hager, Sarah Hibbing, Adam Johnson, Megan Kelley, Adam Kopp, Sara Lind, Philip Mach, Carolyn Monke, Andrew Nordstrom, Will Novotny, Margaret Orne, Tyler Paape, Cassandra Plante, Anna Siekmeier.

The award is presented to students who have a grade point average of 3.5 or above.

- Kathryn Owen, daughter of Herbert and Stephanie Owen of Woodbury, was named to the President's List at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa for the fall 2009 semester. She is a third-year doctor of pharmacy candidate in Drake's College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Students must earn a 4.0 grade-point average to be named to the list.

- Sarah Pavey of Cottage Grove was named to the Dean's List at Hamline University, St. Paul for the fall term of the 2009 - 10 academic year. Students earning the honor have achieved a grade point average of 3.50 or higher on a 4.00 scale. Pavey is the daughter of Chris and John Pavey of Cottage Grove and also has family in the Woodbury area.

- Melissa Ness of Woodbury, a junior majoring in public relations at Northwestern College, Orange City, Iowa traveled to Annville, Ky. to assist on one of the college's annual spring service projects. The Kentucky project included home repair and after-school programs.

- The following local students graduated from the University of St. Thomas fall 2009: Zachary Riggott, B.A., business administration - financial management; Alison Goossens, B.A., political science, Cum Laude; Maggie Baldwin, B.A., political science; Brendan Jorgensen, B.A., business administration - marketing management/ business administration - communication; Mitchell Thometz, B.A., business administration - accounting, Cum Laude.
