Five Oaks to hold Christmas Eve service at East Ridge's Loft Stage
Five Oaks Church in Woodbury is preparing to celebrate its Christmas Eve worship service. But staff members aren't decorating just yet. The church will be holding its Thursday, Dec. 24 services at the Loft Stage inside East Ridge High School. The church rented the space as school will be closed that day.
Five Oaks, which has its own building on Radio Drive in southern Woodbury and a campus in Hudson, needed a little bit more room for its Christmas services this year because this will be the first time it will hold services for both campuses in one location.
Pastor Henry Williams will deliver his Christmas Eve message, "It would take a Miracle...to connect with God" at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. at the Loft Stage.
Five Oaks administrative assistant Deb Carr said congregation members are excited to worship in the 900-seat Loft Stage because of the theatrical elements of the Christmas Eve worship service.
"There is going to be some drama and some other surprise elements that even I'm not privy to," Carr said.
Childcare will be provided at each of the services for children up to 4 years old.
Five Oaks Church recently celebrated its 20th anniversary in Woodbury. Its Hudson campus opened about two years ago.
"This is the first time we've worshipped together since the Hudson campus opened," Carr said. "We love the idea and we think the venue will add to the experience."
