Wetland walk at Tamarack Swamp

The public is invited to join the Ramsey-Washington Metro Watershed District for a guided tour of Tamarack Swamp in Woodbury on July 16.

Tamarack Swamp is one of the most unique and diverse wetlands in the Twin Cities. The guided walk will lead participants through the preserve to identify plants and highlight unique features of the swamp.

Meet at the Tamarack Nature Preserve parking lot at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 16. The tour will return to the parking lot area by 8:30 p.m.

The Tamarack Nature Preserve is located at 1825 Tower Drive, Woodbury (on the east side of Tower Drive, 0.14 miles north of the Valley Creek Road/ Tower Drive intersection).

Handouts and light refreshments will be provided.

The Ramsey-Washington Metro Watershed District is generally bounded by the

I-694/494 corridor and I-35E and the Mississippi River, which encompasses sections of Woodbury, North St. Paul, Maplewood, White Bear Lake, Vadnais Heights, Little Canada, Oakdale, Landfall, Gem Lake and St. Paul. The district works to protect and improve local water quality and natural resources.
