Woodbury Chamber of Commerce names 'Outstanding Educators'

The Woodbury Chamber of Commerce has selected the 2008 Outstanding Educators. This year's outstanding educators are Jodi Weinfurter, a kindergarten teacher at Royal Oaks Elementary, for the Outstanding Elementary Educator; Christine Dease, an art teacher at Woodbury High School, for the Outstanding Secondary Educator; and The Bailey Elementary Student Support Team, which includes Bridget Regan (school social worker), Deb Carr (speech and learning), Adrienne Schwabe (special educator), Dawn Boernke (special educator), Kristine McDonald (school psychologist), Lori Corey (occupational therapist), Jane Moechnig (special educator), and Sharon Holtquist (school nurse), for the Outstanding Education Team.

The Chamber has also added an additional category this year, Outstanding Preschool Educator, and that is being awarded to Emily Prendergast from Primrose School.

These individuals will be recognized at the Chamber's Annual Gala Event on Friday, Jan. 23, 2009 at the Prom Center in Oakdale.

Amber Kispert-Smith

Amber Kispert-Smith has been the schools and Afton reporter at the Woodbury Bulletin since 2008. She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Minnesota. She previously worked as a reporter for Press Publications in White Bear Lake.
