Bugs and bats for families

The city of Woodbury Parks and Recreation department's "Nature in the Park" series events featuring presentations by the Dodge Nature Center will be offered once again at the Evergreen West park building located at 1033 Tamberwood Trail in Woodbury on selected Tuesdays, from 6:45 to 7:30 p.m. Families with children ages 3 to 10 are invited to register for the events. The cost is $5 per child. Children must attend with an adult.

"Insects" are the topic of the Tuesday, Sept. 16 event. According to information provided by organizers, insects may be small, but they are the most abundant creatures on the planet.

Families are invited to learn about the "wonderful world of insects" by getting their hands on some of them, discovering the best places to uncover them and finding out what they do for you every day. Register for activity #55092-10.

Creatures of the night will be featured Tuesday, Oct. 14. Learn about the critters creeping and swooping around in the night and how they survive the dark. Register for activity #55092-11.
