Textile art exhibit at Arcola Mills

Arcola Mills invites the public to experience "Climate Change," a textile art exhibit on display for the month of August.

The opening reception will be held Sunday, Aug. 10, from 1 to 5 p.m. This artwork may also be viewed on Saturday Aug. 9 and Aug. 16-17, from 1 to 5 p.m.

Admission is free, donations accepted.

The Fiber Artist's Study Group, based in Minneapolis, conceived and produced this exhibit. It includes a range of fiber art forms including art quilting, sculptural fiber, and figurative art.

The works vary in size from smaller than one square foot to a triptych measuring nearly seven feet by five feet.

Arcola Mills is a nonprofit retreat and learning center that focuses on history, the arts, the environment and the "renewal of the human spirit."

Located seven miles north of Stillwater, the site includes the 1847 restored Mower/Van Meier mansion, 53 wooded acres and a half-mile of shoreline on the St. Croix River.
