Plant a tree and help the community

The city of Woodbury welcomes anyone willing to help plant trees at the annual Arbor Day and Spring Tree Planting program event Saturday, April 26 at 9 a.m. Park maintenance crews will have already prepared the holes and provided the trees; volunteers do the planting and mulching. Bring shovels and don your work clothes.

This year, 200 to 300 trees will be planted around Colby Lake, in Pioneer Park, and on the east side of Colby Lake Drive (between Valley Creek Road and Leyland Trail). Volunteers should meet at Edgewater Park, 3100 Edgewater Drive (south end of Colby Lake), and Pioneer Park, 2670 Wimbledon Drive.

If you are interested in volunteering for the event, register by calling parks and recreation at (651) 714-3583. If you do not pre-register, you can still participate by arriving at the park the day of the event.
