Ice cream shop robbed
An ice cream shop became the latest target of armed robbery in Woodbury.
On Friday Woodbury police responded to the Marble Slab Creamery in Tamarack Village after a store employee reported the stickup.
According to police reports, the crime was reported shortly before 9 p.m. after a lone suspect entered the establishment armed with a gun.
The suspect demanded money from the store and left on foot with an undisclosed amount of money, a police report stated.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
The suspect was described by police as a black male in his late 20s or early 30s, and between 5-feet 8 inches and 5-feet 10-inches in height. He was wearing a black jacket over a white hooded sweatshirt pulled over his head.
A store camera captured photos of the suspect on video.
The incident is the second armed robbery at a Woodbury shop in the last week. A Subway restaurant at City Centre was robbed at gunpoint Jan. 25. Police believe that incident may be related to an armed robbery of Subway at Valley Creek Mall earlier in January.
No word yet whether the robbery at Marble Slab Creamery is related to the Subway stickups.
