Comedy murder mystery coming soon

Looking for something fun to do this Valentines Day? Check out Lakeshore Players comedy murder mystery, "My Fatal Valentine."

This special fundraiser event includes an entire evening's entertainment with a fun, interactive murder mystery where the amateur detectives in the audience try to solve the crime and vote for "whodunit."

In addition to the murder mystery, the ticket price includes plenty of appetizers and desserts, a chance to win prizes and bid on a silent auction.

Also presented throughout the evening will be musical entertainment and two short plays last seen at Lakeshore's 2007 10-Minute Play Festival: "Au Revoir, Noir" about a frustrated noir writer and "Escape," which addresses the age-old question, "Why did the chicken cross the road?"

The murder mystery is set at the "Hearthrob Books Romance Writer's Convention," where competition is fierce among nominated authors for the coveted "Loveknot Award" -- so fierce, that someone is willing to kill for it.

Among the nominees is a hopelessly romantic spinster, a child prodigy, an obnoxious social climber, a tough guy and a British aristocrat.

Performances are Feb. 14, and 15 at the Garnet Masonic Lodge, 4923 Stewart Avenue, (two blocks north of Lakeshore Players), in downtown White Bear Lake. They begin at 7 p.m. each evening.

Single tickets are $45 each, with a discount for a party table of eight for $315. All proceeds benefit Lakeshore Players Community Theatre.
