Hudson man charged for robbing TCF bank in Tamarack Village
A Hudson man has been charged for the Nov. 23 robbery of a TCF branch bank inside a Cub Foods in Woodbury.
Jacob Edwards, 26, was charged Friday in a Minneapolis federal court after his arrest where law enforcement officials said he was spotted at the Mystic Lake Casino trying to use money he had taken in the robbery in a slot machine.
Another casino patron recognized Edwards from police bulletins and notified casino staff, the report said. They found that the money he used was stained with red dye, a sign that it was taken in the Nov. 23 robbery.
Edwards was later arrested with the help of tip from someone who saw him leave the casino parking lot.
According to the report, Edwards could also be connected to another TCF Bank heist that occurred in Bloomington.
During the Nov. 23 robbery, a suspect approached the teller at the TCF branch inside the Cub Foods at Tamarack Village and made a threatening demand for money. The robber received an undisclosed amount of cash and left the grocery store on foot.
