School color choices for East Ridge High to be readdressed

East Ridge High School principal Aaron Harper has been given approval by the District 833 School Board and administration to readdress the colors approved for the new high school.

Countless hours of dedication were marked in an early morning tea party at Bailey Elementary School.
Dr. Gail Githens, the principal of Red Rock Elementary School in Woodbury since it opened in 2001, is retiring June 30 after 34 years of service to District 833.

It may seem gas prices have skyrocketed over the last year, but believe it or not, the average price of gasoline in the Twin Cities a year ago was about $3.30 per gallon.

Tom and Linda Snyder have had quite a 2008. Three of their four children got engaged within six weeks earlier this year. They are now in the midst of planning the weddings for Amanda and fiancé Tylor Sardeson, Tom Jr. and fiancée Kristen Grygelko and Andy and fiancée Ashely Gaydosik.

The Mayor of Afton spent a morning behind bars last week.
Lauren Knutson, front right, plays the main character “Ruth” in the Woodbury High School Theatre production of “Book of Days” by Lanford Wilson. The murder mystery will be presented May 8 to 10 at 7:30 p.m. General admission tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for students. The play is directed by Jon and Karen Seashore.

Historian to give talk at May Fair

A sense of history will be the leading theme at this year’s Afton May Fair.
Firefighters from Woodbury, Oakdale and Maplewood fought a blaze at home on the 7100 block of Windgate Dr. early Tuesday. The home was severely damaged, but residents escaped without injury.

Setting boundaries: 833 attendance lines change
School District 833 is in the process of re-drawing attendance boundaries that will go into effect for students at all levels in fall of 2009, when East Ridge High School opens in Woodbury. The School Board will end up with three plans to choose from.
