Area fathers and sons put their chef hats on last week.

District 833 Community Education held Friday Night Chefs, a cooking class for fathers and sons, on Friday, Feb. 5, at the District Program Center in Cottage Grove.

During Friday Night Chefs each father-son duo worked together to prepare some game-day snacks in advance of Sunday’s Super Bowl.

The snacks that were prepared included mini pizzas, rice krispie treats, a snack mix, a dip, a strawberry-banana smoothie, and a cookies-and-cream cheese ball.

Sue McKeown of Community Education said the district is trying to offer activities for any type of pairing. Earlier this winter there was an activity course for mothers and sons and this spring the district will host its annual father-daughter dance.
