The holidays in Afton

On Saturday, Santa Claus was on hand at the Sail Away Café for a breakfast with Santa and pictures.

Afton was full of holiday cheer last weekend during its annual Village Holiday celebration.

During the two-day event, held Friday and Saturday, a variety of fun holiday activities were available.

On Friday night, which was Candlelight Night, there was festive shopping with refreshments and music as well as horse and wagon rides, strolling carolers and an artists' market, which had a variety of handmade gifts.

On Saturday, which was Family Day, there were a variety of activities for families. In addition to horse and wagon rides and the strolling carolers, other activities included breakfast and lunch with Santa Claus, a letters to Santa Claus station, going business-to-business collecting treats in stockings, a model train demonstration at the Afton Historical Society and a variety of holiday crafts.

Additionally a "mitten tree" was set up both days at Baglio's of Afton. Visitors were asked to hang warm clothing on the tree, which will be donated to Valley Outreach.
