Historic Courthouse to "Kickoff" Lumberjack Days
The Washington County Historic Courthouse is holding a Kickoff to Lumberjack Days event Wednesday July 22.
An evening of family fun will begin with an old-fashioned ice cream social at 4:30 p.m. The amateur talent show will follow the ice cream social at the historic courthouse 6 p.m.
Visitors may relax and enjoy children's activities and the Fantasy Corral petting zoo while taking in the spectacular view of the St. Croix River and downtown Stillwater. Food, root beer floats, ice cream novelties, penny candy and beverages will be available for purchase until they run out. Lumberjack Days buttons will be sold by the Washington County Historical Society. The first clue for the Lumberjack Days Medallion Hunt will be read during the Amateur Talent Show.
The Amateur Talent Show begins at 6 p.m. and features a variety of acts. Spectators may participate in the history question and answer session during the Talent Show to win prizes donated by local businesses. A performance by St. Croix Music's children's choir will immediately follow the Talent Show while contestant's scores are being tallied. In the event of rain, the Talent Show will be indoors in the Historic Courthouse courtroom. If the event is indoors, seating is limited for the Talent Show.
