Afton May Fair held last weekend
Spring was in the air last weekend during the annual Afton Area Business Association's May Fair.
The 20th Annual May Fair included roughly 60 or 70 vendors selling items including: yard art, photography, ceramics, clothing, garden plants, bath and body products, purses, spring dresses, bird houses and doll clothing.
Other weekend entertainment included live music and fun activities for children including train rides, a bungee jumper and the Carpenter Nature Center's Birds of Prey
Additionally, the May Pole Dancers could be seen throughout the weekend.
One new element to this year's event was the Pickers Yard Sale at the Afton Museum.
Saturday also brought back a crowd favorite - the Old Fashioned Pie Baking Contest.
This year's pie winners were: first place went to Katherine Cassavant of Mahtomedi with her strawberry rhubarb pie, second place went to Susan Mayer of Cottage Grove for her "Mom's French Apple" and third place went to Helen Schneider of Afton for her "Patriot Pie," mixed red and blue berries with rhubarb.
