LETTER: Don’t shortchange kids; use district’s rainy-day fund
District 833 Superintendent Keith Jacobus,
And, if I am not mistaken, you said there is $8.8 million dollars in the rainy-day fund.
Hmmm … seems pretty clear to me. Take the $8 million you need out that fund.
Oh, but you would rather cheat the students of their classes, even though the money is there.
I bet there are a lot of parents in 833 that wish they had a rainy-day fund. But then they would probably spend that money rather than short change their families.
I don’t believe you should have a rainy-day fund. Take care of the education of the children. Don’t shortchange them for your convenience.
