At the (Feb. 23) Town Hall Meeting in Woodbury, I noticed that almost all of the people asking that programs not be cut, or who favored raising taxes, were people who either received benefits or were being paid through government programs.
Minnesota lawmakers will be visiting communities around the state to gather input on the Governor’s budget recommendations and listen to the public’s ideas to address the state’s $4.8 billion budget deficit.
State Senator Kathy Saltzman (DFL-Woodbury), State Representative Julie Bunn (DFL-Lake Elmo), and State Representative Marsha Swails (DFL-Woodbury), announced they will hold a joint legislative town meeting on Saturday, Feb. 7 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Woodbury City Hall.
