A report released by the Minnesota Department of Education June 12 found that the majority of Minnesota children are prepared for kindergarten. The report also highlighted the need to continue improving school readiness for those children most at-risk of entering kindergarten unprepared.
The District 833 School Readiness program is still accepting registration for “Kindergarten Here We Come,” Monday through Friday, Aug. 3 - 14, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. for children who are eligible to attend kindergarten in the fall of 2009.

A presentation workshop titled “Is My Child Ready for Kindergarten?” will be held Thursday, Jan. 15 at 6:30 p.m. The workshop will take place at Peace of Mind/Footprints Academy, 9025 Tamarack Road, Woodbury.
Participating District 833 elementary schools are teaming up with the district’s School Readiness program to offer a summer learning opportunity for children who are age-eligible to attend kindergarten in the fall of 2008.
Families in South Washington County Schools with children who will be five years old on or before Sept. 1, 2008, are eligible for kindergarten in the fall of 2008.
