A declining presence of perfluorochemicals has been measured in citizens of Cottage Grove and other east-metro communities as officials work to reduce the exposure of drinking water to the manufactured chemicals, a state project has shown.
City and state officials are awaiting test results from nearly two dozen private wells in Cottage Grove near the city’s northern border after what officials described as an unexpected spike in levels of a 3M-manufactured chemical at a Woodbury dump site.
A number of Minnesota and Wisconsin organizations have released a letter signed by the Minnesota Environmental Partnership and 25 other state and national groups to Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton regarding the St. Croix River crossing.
