District 833 is reviewing two internal candidates to fill the superintendent position that will be left vacant when Tom Nelson retires this spring. The candidates, Mark Porter and Rick Spicuzza shared their vision for the district with the public recently.
School District 833’s two internal candidates for superintendent both said that they are concerned about students’ test scores and they think the alternative pay system for teachers has been a success at a public question and answer session last Friday.
School District 833’s search consultants, School Exec Connect, have advised the school board for South Washington County Schools that two members of the district’s current administrative team will interview for the opportunity to replace Superintendent Tom Nelson, who is retiring in June, 2009.
At its Oct. 23 workshop meeting, the District 833 School Board narrowed down the list of consulting firms that will aid in the selection of a new superintendent to replace Tom Nelson after his June 2009 retirement.
