The Math and Science Academy and East Ridge High School robotics teams competed in the For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST) Robotics Competition World Championship in St. Louis, Missouri April 26-28.
The Math and Science Academy Fighting Calculators, the school’s robotics team, were named the 2013 champions at the North Star Regional Tournament held March 30 at the University of Minnesota. MSA will next compete April 24-27 in St. Louis, Mo. against nearly 400 teams from across the United States and internationally in the World Championship.
District 833 School Board updated its strategic plan last week in the areas of technology, creating a positive and safe student environment, recruiting, hiring and developing employees and forging partnerships with businesses and the community.
District 834 will be implementing Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) class in all of his buildings next year, for grades 3 through 10, thanks to several community grants and partnerships.
