Area high schools counting down to the year's first bell Woodbury and East Ridge high schools had their first taste of the school year last Friday when both schools held their freshman orientations. WHS invited 444 ninth graders; East Ridge invited more than 500 ninth graders.

East Ridge High School's robotics team, the East Ridge Robotics Ominous Raptors (ERRORS) was one of three Woodbury teams that competed at the FIRST Robotics Competition April 1-3. The other two teams were the Math and Science Academy Fighting Calculators and the Woodbury High School Stereotropic Prototype.
