i would also like to remind people that people like akminidinjad (sp?) are believers that they must bring on the apocalypse to bring forth the coming of the 12 immam, who is their equivalent of our jesus. I believe the description he has used is "the world must be bathed in blood". this is NOT an issue of the US being at fault for creating hate against the west, this is a religious belief, that the ayotollah supports. Please, dont simplify the discussion and stop with the blame game. Are the germans of this new generation to be blamed for the actions of their grandparents? exactly how much punishment, how much guilt, how long must a people continue to have past sins held over their head? my children are not racist, nor am i. considering we had well over 50% vote for a black man tells me that a majority of americans are not racist. continuing to hold selected history over the heads of a people does nothing but create anxiety and anger. the racism is being thrown out over and over again by the left. it is not coming from the right. (with the exception of trying to defend against the accusations) Lets all please grow up and act like adults. We are being poor role models for these poor children who are destined to inherit a financial tsunami that we selfishly are passing on to them.

very interesting posts. might i point out a couple of things? there was a very prominent very liberal black actor who, after the earthquake, said that it was the earths judgement for failure of copenhagen. So the haitians were to be punished because of the lack of cap and trade? Kooks exist in every color and in every part of the political/social spectrum. In the pacific NW they have ELF (radical liberal) setting fire to dealerships and housing developments. Interesting how those are 'justified' in the media and dismissed quickly. the guy who flew the plane in to the IRS building quoted marx. the professor who shot her fellow staffers was an "offensive" obama supporter. the fort hood shooter was a radicalized muslim, with allah akbar on his business cards. be careful where you throw stones of blame, they might bounce right back at you.

Hmmm, TT C, and here I have often thought YOU needed a sense of humor! I do wonder how funny you would have found a comment that involved castrating a guy (instead of targeting one of "the girls"). Oh, and you didn't seem to find at all funny those humorous comments which were aimed at your supporter Michelle V. awhile ago. Go figure. At any rate, I'm honored by Jack's "label." Would be pretty worried if the guy actually LIKED me (or wanted to have coffee). Now, it's (temporarily) Spring, this website won't behave for me, and I'm outa here (oink).

Once again I see the site posted me twice (honest, I didn't do it). Mr. TT C, I did now see the offending comment by Jack about Rep. Bachmann. I have no idea why you brought that over into this discussion - esp. after your complaining that the rest of us can't stay on topic. And I don't know why you asked me - except to bait me? The only thing Bachmann should be is defeated in the next election. I'm not even in her district. But the comment was awful, and I tried to complain by doing the Report a Violation thing - but that apparently isn't working right, either. Comments like that, apart from their cruel vulgarity, just serve to make those who oppose Bachmann look like loony toons also. (Now I hope this just shows up once)

My goodness. You are all a bunch of self-indulgent snobs who really need to get a grip on how important your own small opinions really are.

TT C: "Joyce, belatedly, am gratified to know that abortion isn't a 'deal breaker' for you. Woud never have thunk it." And that right after saying (again) that Joyce is always predictable! Mr. TT C, possibly none of us actually fits neatly into those boxes you insist on stuffing us in. I do not assume that all Republicans, or those who "lean right," think the same (I know better, as I'm related to a fair number of 'em). There are a couple of you here who it seems wouldn't want to be lumped in with Pat Robertson, for example. Maybe if we started off with actually listening to the other person, rather than making snap judgments and assigning them to a "team," we would have more of the type of discussion you say you want.

posted by Jack (who thinks I'm the one w/"cognitive dissonance") on 03/01/2010 10:53 AM: "Will we now see children in schools banding together to send new shoes to Chileans? We have kids in America with no shoes, and I see no great rush by our teachers to try and get the students to lift a finger to help other Americans. Why then, should the rush be to help non-Americans..." posted by Jack on 02/26/2010 10:53 AM: "Haitians left their dead family in the streets and ran to loot electronics stores for TVs and stereos. They can all [deleted], as far as I'm concerned." Of course, there could possibly be two Jack M's from Prescott on here. Sometimes that happens.

Carol, you don't have the slightest clue what I think schoolkids should or shouldn't do. You suffer from cognitive dissonance. You already know what I think and will apply that label to me regardless of what I say. And no, this isn't the "all time record for this site" for comments. Just FYI on that last tidbit. Alice, you suffer from a lack of reading comprehension. I never referred to "victims of the Haitian earthquake" as looters. But there are a HIGH percentage of them that certainly qualify as that. Or do you deny that reality too... You call it racist because you have white man's guilt. It doesn't make it so.
