New Life Academy brought Minnesota history alive last week during the school’s annual Wax Museum. During the event, NLA sixth graders gave presentations on an assigned historical figure from Minnesota – such as baseball player Charles Bender, physician Martha Ripley, actress Blanche Yurka, Ojibwa writer Maude Kegg and business woman Elizabeth Quinlan. Students are also encouraged to dress the part as they take on the persona of their historical figure.
