Gas leak investigated in Woodbury

Woodbury firefighters and utility were investigating a gas leak Wednesday morning near Valley Creek and Colby Lake roads.

Woodbury firefighters were investigating a gas leak Wednesday morning near Valley Creek and Colby Lake roads.

Michelle Okada, public information officer for Woodbury Public Safety, said the leak was being handled by Xcel Energy workers after firefighters investigated the scene. Traffic on Colby Lake Road south of Valley Creek Road was blocked off around 9:15 a.m. while firefighters checked on the leak.

No homes were evacuated and the leak was not a threat to the public, Okada said.

The cause of the leak was not immediately clear.
