Police reports: 'Creepy' gas station customer, State Farm snowboarders, meat thief, more ...

A resident in the 2300 block of Cypress Drive reported Feb. 5 that about $500 in tools had been taken from the back of his pickup truck. No suspects.

Workers at Super America, 9910 Norma Lane, reported Feb. 7 that a “creepy male” had been coming into the store between 1-3 a.m. and has been giving employees gifts. The man is not threatening, workers reported, but he would stare at them for long periods of time and says nonsensical things. The workers were told to call back if the male returned.

Security workers at the State Farm Insurance building, 8500 State Farm Way, reported Feb. 7 that two men were taking down signs at the property in order to ride snowboards down a stairwell. One of the men, a Cottage Grove resident, admitted to taking down the sign with a St. Paul Park man. Security agreed to let the Cottage Grove man repair the sign in lieu of pressing trespassing charges. Police later confirmed the sign had been fixed.

A resident in the 1900 block of Jewel Drive reported a possible prowler Feb. 8. The complainant heard a noise begin upstairs, followed by a crash downstairs. Police investigated and discovered ice was crashing down from the house.

A Woodbury woman reported Feb. 8 that her ring was stolen at Life Time Fitness, 675 Commons Drive. She took the ring off to wash her hands in the locker room, forgot it was there and left. She returned to find it missing, but was later notified that it had been turned in to lost and found.

A St. Paul woman reported Feb. 8 that her daughter’s iPod was taken from Wooddale Fun Zone, 2122 Wooddale Drive. The girl said she had the device on a table, when she turned to talk to friends. When she turned back, the $350 iPod was gone.

Police responded Feb. 9 to Cub Foods, 8432 Tamarack Village, for a theft report. A man walked out of the store with a pink bag full of meat, steaks, lobster tails, hot dogs and shrimp. A witness saw the man walk to Champps Americana restaurant, where he dropped the bag and went inside. Police were unable to locate the man, but found the bag, the contents of which were valued at $509.

A Woodbury resident reported Feb. 10 that he smelled marijuana and later saw two juvenile males in a van smoking pot at Super Target, 449 Commerce Drive. Police were unable to locate the pot smokers.

Police responded to a Feb. 11 theft report at a residence in the 2100 block of Queens Drive. A resident there suspected another resident of stealing gift cards from his dresser. The suspect denied the allegations. The homeowner and caretaker reeked of an alcoholic beverage, police said. Officers checked the man’s license, which indicated he was prohibited from alcohol use. The Department of Vehicle Services was notified.

A Woodbury man reported a possible burglary Feb. 11 on Bridgewater Court. The man said his son was home alone when he heard a garage door open and someone knocking on a service door leading to the home. The son someone then called the home and said “hello.” The son left the home, which is for sale, ran to a neighbor’s house and called police. The phone call was confirmed by police to be a misdial. Police found nothing missing or disturbed in the home.
