Police responded to a Feb. 11 theft report at a residence in the 2100 block of Queens Drive. A resident there suspected another resident of stealing gift cards from his dresser. The suspect denied the allegations. The homeowner and caretaker reeked of an alcoholic beverage, police said. Officers checked the man’s license, which indicated he was prohibited from alcohol use. The Department of Vehicle Services was notified.

The man said his son was home alone when he heard a garage door open and someone knocking on a service door leading to the home. The son someone then called the home and said “hello.” The son left the home, which is for sale, ran to a neighbor’s house and called police. The phone call was confirmed by police to be a misdial.
