Perpich school’s plan would sustain diversity at Crosswinds
The East Metro Integration District (EMID) has voted to give governance of Crosswinds Arts and Science building in Woodbury to the Perpich Center for Arts Education. Perpich needs legislative support in order to make this happen.

I support this initiative for three important reasons:
Perpich plans to keep the programs intact and continue the building’s intended purpose of “a year-round program where urban and suburban students, families and staff join together to explore, create and learn.”
The $25 million dollar facility was established with state funding for the benefit of children in multiple districts, not to serve the needs of just one.
Under Perpich, Crosswinds can continue as an example of effective integration and with Perpich’s outreach, bring that model to schools throughout the state who are more diverse than ever before.
