Police investigate business burglaries on City Centre Drive

Several businesses on City Centre Drive reported burglaries on Jan. 25.

Several businesses on City Centre Drive reported burglaries on Jan. 25.

At Corner Medical, an exterior door was pried open, giving way to access to a desk drawer’s cash till, which burglars also pried their way into. About $100 cash was taken there, and about $500 in damage was inflicted to the business.

The dental offices of Brent Martin were also burglarized. About $50 cash was taken form a safe there, while approximately $300 in damage was done to the business.

Horner Family Eye reported about $2,000 worth of damage to its business, but nothing inside the business appeared missing.

At Minnesota Spine and Sport, burglars smashed a glass door to gain access to a cash box inside, where about $200 cash was taken.

Woodbury police Cmdr. Steve Wills said the City Centre Drive break-ins are probably connected. He said it was not clear whether those burglaries were related to other business break-ins on Commerce Drive and CityWalk that occurred in January, but said “they are similar in nature.”

Fingerprints were found on the scene and sent to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension for analysis.
