Woman pleads guilty in Woodbury fraud case

A St. Paul woman pleaded guilty to a felony after allegedly being found in possession of items stolen from the break room of a Woodbury store.

Keri-Anne Ruzin, 33, pleaded guilty Thursday, Feb. 7, to one count of financial card fraud in Washington County District Court.

She was arrested in October 2012 after three people at Tuesday Morning reported their personal property – including credit cards, a checkbook and a Social Security card – were stolen from the store’s break room.

Two days later, Woodbury police learned that a woman had attempted to use one of the stolen cards at the Valley Creek Plaza Target, which is located 300 feet from Tuesday Morning. Video surveillance showed a woman attempting to use the card on three occasions. In each instance, the attempted purchases, which totaled $1,086, were denied.

Police later learned Ruzin had been arrested in Maplewood after allegedly attempting to use a stolen Kohl’s card that had been taken from the Tuesday Morning break room.

Investigators also interviewed a person who admitted to driving Ruzin to Woodbury and dropping her off at Tuesday morning before going to Target.

Ruzin is set to be sentenced April 26.
