1.01 PART 1 - GENERAL

1.02 INTRODUCTORY INFORMATION

A. From: Kraus-Anderson Construction Company acting on behalf of City of Woodbury.

B. Project: Bielenberg Sports Center - Expansion Project

C. Key Dates:

1. Bid Due Date: Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at 2:00 pm local time.

2. Cut Off Date for Questions and Interpretations: Monday, February 25, 2013 at 2:00 pm.

D. Method of Delivery: Kraus-Anderson Construction Company has been selected as an Agency Construction Manager by City of Woodbury to administer the construction of the Bielenberg Sports Center - Expansion Project which is located in Woodbury, Minnesota.

1. The overall project consists of Demolition of the existing Lobby and Inflatable Structure and replace with a New Fieldhouse with turf, 2-Story Lobby Structure, Miscellaneous Building Upgrades and Exterior Skating Rink. The work will be constructed in one (1) phase in accordance with the Project Schedule.

E. Work Included in this Offering: We are presently soliciting competitive "Prime Contract Bids" for the following portions of work as defined herein.

1. All portions of the Work as defined in Section 01 12 10.

F. Future Work: The following portions of Work are anticipated to be issued at a later date:

1. Landscaping and Miscellaneous Site Amenities.

G. Bid Date and Location: Sealed bids will be received at City of Woodbury, 8301 Valley Creek Road, Woodbury, MN 55125 then publicly opened and read aloud. Bids will be received until 2:00 pm local time, on Tuesday, March 5, 2013.

H. Bid Security: Each bid shall be accompanied by Bid Security in form of certified check, cashier's check or bid bond in amount of five (5) percent of Base Bid submitted, made payable to Owner, as guarantee that Bidder will, if awarded, enter into Contract in accordance with Contract Documents and submitted Bid.

From the homepage, select "Set Your ARC Location" at the top of the page then search "Plymouth". Select "Enter Planroom" then "Public Planroom". Once in the project, select "Download Complete Set", then "Instant Download". After Registration, select "Download Now". You will be provided with a link to the files. Simply click it and save to your computer. You must complete the checkout process.

2. Hard Copy Documents for Purchase: Documents (complete sets only) may be purchased directly from ARC Document Solutions.

a. Process for purchasing full sets of Bidding Documents: Bidders, Subcontractors and others may obtain non-refundable additional sets of Bidding Documents by ordering from and paying directly to ARC Document Solutions.

b. Printer and Kraus-Anderson will not be responsible for notifying individual parties who obtained documents without completing the checkout process, when Addenda are issued.

C.Examination of Documents: Bidder shall carefully examine entire content of Bidding Documents to become thoroughly familiar with the documents and project requirements. Refer to Instructions to Bidders for additional requirements.

D.Examination of the Site: Bidders shall make arrangements with the Construction Manager to visit the project site to obtain first-hand knowledge of existing conditions, including existing utilities and services, obstacles which may be encountered and all other conditions relative to the Work to be performed.

1.05 OTHER CONDITIONS

A.Time of Completion: Refer to Section 01 32 00 - Bids shall reflect all costs necessary to meet this schedule requirement.

B.Owner's Right to Reject Bids: Owner reserves the right to reject a Bid which is in any way incomplete or irregular or to waive informalities or irregularities in a Bid received, and accept a Bid, which in the Owner's judgment is in the Owner's best interests.

C.Additional Compensation: Contractors shall not receive extra payments for conditions which can be determined by examining the site and the Contract Documents.

Pre-Bid Conference: A Pre-Bid Conference will be held on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at 1:30 pm, at Bielenberg Sports Center, 4125 Radio Drive, Woodbury, MN 55125.
