Two Woodbury teachers nominated for Teacher of the Year award
Matt Karasek, an English language learners teacher at East Ridge High School, and Jennifer Thorne, a second grade teacher at Middleton Elementary, have been named candidates for the 2013 Teacher of the Year award.
Two teachers from Woodbury will by vying for the title of Minnesota's top educator.

Education Minnesota, the statewide teachers union, organizes the annual contest.
This year's Teacher of the Year competition has a total of 135 candidates.
A 25-member panel - made up of principals, teachers, college professors and various organization directors - will narrow the candidates down to a group of semifinalists and then finalists.
The winner will be announced May 5 at a ceremony at the Marriott Minneapolis Northwest in Brooklyn Park.
