Cretin-Derham Hall handed East Ridge’s its second consecutive loss Tuesday after a 4-1 Suburban East Conference victory at the Cottage Grove Ice Arena.
The Raiders (12-6-1, 10-3 SEC) have the lead for the conference title and beat the Raptors 5-2 earlier in the season.
Cretin-Derham Hall pumped in its first goal at 15 minutes, 11 seconds of the first period when Kendall Bolen-Porter scored.
East Ridge (9-9-2, 5-6-2 SEC) tied it 3:05 into the second period with Tyler Hart’s goal on an assist from Jack Greeley and Ian Penvose.
But the Raiders went on to score the next three goals of the period. Nick Reis, who had three goals in the first meeting between the teams, scored 35 seconds later to retake a 2-1 lead. Jim Buckingham and Bolen-Porter added goals at 4:59 and 16:50 to extend the lead to 4-1.
Neither team gave up a power-play goal and both teams had 34 shots on goal.
After the loss to Cretin-Derham Hall, East Ridge rebounded with win over Hastings.
Derek Hammer had two goals and Tyler Hart recorded a goal and two assists to help lead the Raptors to a 4-3 victory Saturday against Hastings in Hastings.
Hammer gave the Raptors a 1-0 lead in the first period and Hart had what proved the game winner at 5:33 of the third period.
Hart’s goal put East Ridge up 5-2, but the Raiders rallied for two goals to make it 5-4. Mark Huneke scored at 12:50 to move to within two goals and Andrew Bussey scored with 51 seconds left.
Ian Penvose had a power-play goal for East Ridge in the second period. Hammer got his second goal at 4:25 of the second period to take a 2-1 lead. Jacob Behnken made it 3-1 with a goal at 5:49.
Tyler Guck made 28 saves on 32 shots to get the win in goal for the Raptors.
