Police reports: Underage parties, shoplifters, burglaries, more ...

Woodbury police reports for Jan. 8-13.

A Woodbury resident reported possible animal abuse Jan. 8 in the 900 block of Springhill Drive. The complainant said a dog there lives outside on a short leash and is continuously standing in feces while crying. Police investigated the situation and found the dog to be “in good shape” and living in a doghouse.

An officer on patrol Jan. 8 in the 6000 block of Hudson Road witnessed suspicious activity involving a vehicle. A male left the vehicle, walked toward an underground garage, paced back and forth and ran back to the vehicle. The vehicle left, then drove to the Valhalla methadone clinic, where the officer conducted a traffic stop. The officer smelled alcohol and marijuana on the driver, a Maplewood man. He was cited for allowing open bottle, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of small amount of marijuana. Two passengers, another Maplewood man and a Stillwater man, were cited for open bottle and possession of small amount of marijuana.

Police were called Jan. 9 to a residential burglary. A Woodbury man reported that items hanging on the wall in his home were stolen. A possible suspect with whom the complainant was feuding was interviewed by police and denied involvement. Loss: $500.

An officer made contact Jan. 9 outside Kohl’s, 7100 Valley Creek Plaza, with a Stillwater man suspected in a shoplifting attempt. Store security reported seeing the man toss items into landscaping near the door. Police located a baggie that contained suspected methamphetamines. The suspect, who was arrested on suspicion of fifth-degree drug possession, refused to talk with police.

A Woodbury woman reported Jan. 10 that she suspected her neighbors were knocking down her Christmas decorations in an effort to annoy her and to get her to move. The woman suspected the activity was a retaliatory move stemming from other neighbor-related issues.

Police were called Jan. 10 for a residential burglary on Wedgewood Drive. A woman there said she got home to find an unsecure door from the patio to the kitchen slightly ajar and a bedroom ransacked. Jewelry was found scattered around the room, while other jewelry items were missing.

An anonymous caller reported finding beer bottles, cigarette butts and food Jan. 12 in a yard left behind by teenagers who had been hot-tubbing over the weekend on Galway Road.

Police were called Jan. 10 to St. John’s Drive and Valley Creek Road for a personal-injury crash. One person required transport by ambulance. A Woodbury man was cited for careless driving.

A female complainant reported Jan. 11 that underage drinking and possible drug dealing was occurring at a home in the 10000 block of Fox Run Road. A subsequent report indicated a large, noisy party was occurring at the home. Police responded to the home, where they found numerous people and a smell of marijuana. The suspect was informed of the complaint and told to have his guests go home, which they did.

Police responded Jan. 11 to an underage drinking report. Upon arrival, police spotted several juveniles fleeing the back of a house and garage. Police met up with a juvenile living there who was hosting the party. Police located empty alcohol containers and marijuana remnants before notifying the juvenile’s father. Ammunition was also discovered in a backpack.

A Woodbury resident reported Jan. 12 that items were stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked at Woodbury 10 Theater, 1470 Queens Drive. Stolen items included an iPod and a GPS unit. Loss: $200.

Police were called Jan. 13 to Sally’s Beauty Supply, 10150 Hudson Road, for a shoplifting complaint. Staff there said two women and a male entered the store acting suspiciously. Staff confronted a suspect, who dropped an item from her coat and ran out of the store along with the two other suspects. Other items were suspected to have been stolen by the group.
