Prosecutors charged a Woodbury man with felony assault after he allegedly beat a woman at his home.
Antonio Lee Richardson, 23, appeared in court in December on one count of third-degree assault, a felony.
According to a criminal complaint, Woodbury police were called to Richardson’s Harvest Path residence at 4:34 a.m. Sept. 11, 2012, for a domestic assault report.
Officers arrived to find a 21-year-old woman with injuries to her face.
The woman, who was found doubled over on a couch vomiting into a bowl, told police that Richardson became angry with her because she wouldn’t sleep with him.
The woman alleged Richardson pulled her out of bed by her hair and said repeatedly that “you are going to make me do something bad.”
When she resisted, Richardson slugged her in the face with a closed fist, the complaint states. The woman was taken to Woodwinds Health Campus, where she was treated for a “blow out fracture” near her eye.
Richardson had fled the scene by the time police arrived, according to the complaint. Richardson’s next court appearance is March 21.
