The New Life Academy girls basketball team lost two home games during the week, falling in a close, hard-fought game on Monday night versus Visitation and a grueling game the following night against Humboldt.
On Monday night, the Eagles (0-8; 0-1 MCAA) held close to Visitation (4-8) throughout the game, trailing by just four points at halftime and ending the game on the wrong end of a 64-57 loss.
Junior Emily Bouldan and sophomore Valerie Hohol led the Eagles in scoring with 15 points each, and Hohol led all players with 14 rebounds, recording her second straight double-double.
The following night, New Life hit the hardwood again against St. Paul Humboldt (6-1), losing 75-52.
Bouldan and senior Sydney Steele both scored 13 points to lead the way for the Eagles, and Hohol once again led New Life with 11 rebounds. Molly Saum was right behind Hohol with 10 rebounds of her own.
The Eagles hit the court for the Fridley Tiger Holiday Invitational, after the Bulletin went to print. Next, NLA travels to Lester Prairie/Holy Trinity (5-2; 1-0 MCAA) on Jan. 3.
