Police reports: Snow brings motorcycle complaint, teens refusing to attend school

Police responded Dec. 4 to Golf Galaxy, 9780 Hudson Road, for a theft report. An employee that two golf clubs and a box of golf balls had been stolen. Loss: $470.

Police responded Dec. 5 to Xperience Fitness, 1555 Queens Drive, for a theft report. A Hudson man reported that his iPhone was stolen while left unattended in the locker room. There is a possible suspect. Loss: $700.

A resident on Ashwood Road reported Dec. 5 that a male was looking into her windows. The male walked off after seeing the complainant look back at him. Police were unable to locate the suspect.

A Somerset, Wis., business reported Dec. 6 that a skid-steer plow was stolen from a parking lot near Walmart, 10240 Hudson Road. Loss: $1,500.

Police responded Dec. 6 to Target, 7200 Valley Creek Road, for a theft by swindle report. A Woodbury woman reported a man clad in a Jimmy John’s uniform approached her saying he needed gas money. The woman said she had encountered the same man two weeks ago at Trader Joe’s, where he made the same claim. The woman said that during the Target incident she confronted the man and he was unable to offer a defense. The woman used her cellphone to photograph the man, identified by police as a St. Paul man. After the suspect left, the woman went to the police station and filed a report.

A juvenile male reported Dec. 7 that his iPod was stolen at Woodbury High School, 2665 Woodlane Drive. The device had been left in a classroom and was later discovered missing. Loss: $250.

An officer on Dec. 8 located a man in shorts and flip-flops in the 2230 block of Eagle Creek Lane. Police said the man had a hard time walking and smelled of alcohol. A test revealed a blood-alcohol content of 0.26. The man voluntarily agreed to be taken to detox.

A resident in the 8100 block of Somerset Knoll reported Dec. 8 that a shipment delivered to her residence was stolen. The items, which had been delivered in boxes, were valued at $79. No suspects.

A juvenile female reported Dec. 9 that her backpack, containing an iPhone, a basketball uniform and sandals, was stolen at East Ridge High School. The student said she left the backpack in a sports locker room while she went to get food. It was gone when she returned. Loss: $275.

A woman in the 7800 block of Rimbley Road reported Dec. 10 that her neighbor was putting snow onto her property, which was destroying her property. Police did not discover any snow violations, but found a sign in the complainant’s window that contained a swear word and an arrow pointing in the neighbor’s direction. Police told her to remove the sign.

An anonymous caller reported Dec. 10 that an out-of-control motorcyclist had blown through a stop sign at Valley Creek Road and Queens Drive. Police located the motorcyclist, who was driving a day after the city received more than 10 inches of snow. The motorcyclist, a Woodbury man, admitted it was not the best day to be driving the motorcycle.

Police responded Dec. 10 to a Woodbury residence for a report of children refusing to go to school. The complainant said his high school-age children refused to go to school because driving was unsafe and they should have a snow day. An officer declined the complainant’s request to drive the students to school. The officer learned the children had been taken to school by their mother.
