Police reports: Shopping bag thief nabbed, electronics targeted at Walmart, more ...

NOTE: This is a sample of recent incidents involving the Woodbury police. All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

-- Police responded Nov. 27 to The Buckle, 9020 Hudson Road, for a theft report. Officers learned an Inver Grove Heights woman shopping at DSW had set down a Buckle bag that another person grabbed. The other person, a Minneapolis man, took the bag to the Buckle, where he attempted to exchange its contents for other merchandise. He was cited for theft.

-- Workers at Walmart, 10240 Hudson Road, reported Nov. 27 that a theft occurred earlier in the day. Taken were a Wii console ($600), an iPhone adapter ($58), a backpack ($100), and a car stereo ($200). Workers reported two males went to the electronics department, concealed some of the merchandise and carried the Wii consoles to the hardware department, where they picked out the car stereo. All items were then placed in backs taken from the sporting goods department before leaving the store with all in tow. Surveillance video captured images of the suspects.

-- Police and firefighters responded Nov. 28 to a sulfur smell at a location in Woodbury. A complainant reported becoming nauseous and dizzy. Firefighters handled the call. Woodbury police refused to release the location of the incident.

-- An anonymous caller reported Nov. 28 that several juveniles were seen on the ice in the Dancing Waters development at Settlers Ridge Way and Valley Creek Road. Police checked on the situation but found no one at the location.

-- A Woodbury woman called Nov. 29 to report suspicious activity at a home in the 2400 block of Eagle Trace Lane. The caller suspected the residents might be running a puppy mill or selling birds from the residence due to short-term traffic “at all hours of the night.” Police advised the woman to notify the association and the report the activity when it is occurring.

-- A resident on Fairway Terrace reported Nov. 29 that a package delivered to her residence had been tampered with. Police suspected it was opened by someone looking for items of value.

-- An officer on patrol Dec. 1 at Radio Drive and Hudson Road spotted a vehicle driving at 12:36 a.m. without headlights. The officer immediately spotted two marijuana pipes in plain view and could smell burnt marijuana. A search of the vehicle turned up pot pipes, a small amount of marijuana, part of a pot grinder, three Adderal capsules and four beers, two of which were empty. The suspect, an Oakdale woman, was cited for possession of small amount of marijuana and underage alcohol possession.

-- A Woodbury woman reported Dec. 1 that she spotted a man urinating in a bottle, then walking off and leaving the bottle behind. The suspect was witnessed parking near tennis courts on Seasons Parkway east of Radio Drive, where he relieved himself. When asked by the complainant what he was going to do with the bottle, he drove off. Police did not locate the suspect’s vehicle.

-- Police stopped a vehicle Dec. 2 for a traffic violation and determined two of its three juvenile occupants had consumed alcohol. They were cited for underage consumption; the driver was cited for an improper left turn.

-- Officers responded to a call Dec. 3 at Country Inn and Suites for assistance on a room eviction. Police, who smelled pot smoke on their way to the room, spoke with its occupants. Two of the nine people in the room were cited for underage consumption, while a Plymouth man was arrested for an outstanding warrant.

-- A Hugo construction company reported Dec. 3 that a $120,000 portable generator was stolen from a construction site in the 600 block of Weir Drive.

-- Police responded Dec. 3 to Golden Eagle and White Eagle drives for a report of a pedestrian peeking into parked vehicles. Police stopped and interviewed a possible suspect.

-- An officer pulled over a vehicle driving 30 mph in a 45 mph zone Dec. 4 at Radio and Donegal drives. Police said the driver, a Woodbury man, was glassy-eyed and lethargic, then noticed a baggie filled with marijuana in his breast pocket. Officers found more pot and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. The man was cited for the illegal items and for littering after he pitched a lit cigarette on the ground in front of the officer. The driver was released to his mother.
