Police reports: Road rage reporter 'returns the favor,' jewelry taken in burglary, more ...

Police responded Nov. 7 to Dickey’s Barbecue for a report of violation of voter’s rights. A worker there claimed he had been fired the previous day for showing up late. The Minneapolis man said he was late because he was voting.

A resident in the 3500 block of Oxford Drive reported Nov. 7 that three males were attempting to drill out a front-door lock on home. Police contacted the men, who had been hired by a bank to secure a foreclosed home.

Police responded Nov. 8 to the 6900 block of Collingwood lane for a garage burglary. A resident said a toolbox chest and tools ($600) were taken from the garage. A box containing light bulbs had been moved from the garage floor to the top of the man’s vehicle. A note with profanity was placed on the box. No suspects.

A Woodbury woman reported Nov. 8 that her daughter’s bicycle was stolen in the 3200 block of Copper Oaks Trail.

Workers at Champps Americana reported a suspicious vehicle Nov. 8 due to recent break-ins in the area. A complainant spotted a small SUV in the parking lot. When approached, the suspect cursed and drove off.

Police were called to a Woodbury location Nov. 8 for a dumping complaint. Police found two garbage bags filled with deer remains. The complainant reported those bags had been there for days, but wondered if a vehicle spotted in the area may have been connected.

A resident in the 7200 block of Steepleview Road reported a burglary Nov. 9. A man there reported a jewelry box containing jewelry was stolen. No suspects or witnesses.

Police were called Nov. 9 to a Woodbury school for a welfare check. Two parents arrived for a school program and appeared to be under the influence. A complainant told police the parents came to watch their son’s program and sat in the middle of the room instead of up against a wall, where other parents were. The complainant said the parents were yelling their child’s name while eating cheeseburgers and fries. They later got up stumbling and joined the children’s program by dancing along. An officer arrived at the school to find the parents digging through items in a lost-and-found area. The officer learned the parents were taking methadone to recover from drug addiction. The parents agreed to leave their car at the school and walk their son home.

An anonymous caller issued a road rage report Nov. 9, saying a Toyota Tundra was driving aggressively. The complainant said he wanted to report the driver because others had made complaints against him in the past and he wanted to “return the favor.”

A resident in the 2400 block of Fieldstone Curve reported a possible prowler Nov. 9. The caller said she heard a dog barking and thought she heard someone trying to open the front door. She waited five minutes to look outside, but did not find anyone. She did not wish to be seen by police.

Police were called Nov. 9 to East Ridge High School for a theft report. A student reported leaving an iPod ($400) at the school cafeteria. It was later discovered to be missing. There was a possible suspect.

A resident in the 600 block of Markgrafs Lake Drive reporting finding a suspicious basket Nov. 10. Police found and inspected the camouflage-print Tupperware box. It was filled with dirt.

Police were called Nov. 10 to the 7800 block of Rimbley Road for a disturbance report. Neighbors called at 3:41 a.m. after hearing loud banging across the street. Police arrived to find an intoxicated man trying to enter a house belonging to his “baby moma,” the report states. Police took the man to a St. Paul gas station.

Officers responded Nov. 11 to Eagle View Boulevard and White Eagle Drive for a road rage report. A male complainant said a Woodbury man drove aggressively then stopped in the middle of the road, blocking his vehicle. The Woodbury man got out of his vehicle with a baton and yelled “fighting words” at the other motorist. The suspect struck the motorist’s vehicle twice with the baton as he drove off. The suspect was arrested and jailed on suspicion of terroristic threats, disorderly conduct and property damage.

A female complainant reported Nov. 11 she was assaulted at Wild Bill’s, 546 Commons Drive, by a man she knew. The woman said she spotted the man, who she used to date, inside the bar. She confronted the man outside the bar over money she had loaned him. She said she reached back to slap the man, but he punched her in the face before she could make contact. Police said the woman showed facial injuries.

Officers responded Nov. 12 to a crash at Tower Drive and Meadowbrook Road involving a school bus and another vehicle. There were no injuries.

A Hastings man reported Nov. 12 that his Bobcat construction vehicle was taken from a construction site in the 11000 block of Sand Castle Drive. It appeared the Bobcat had been loaded onto a trailer and driven off. Loss: $30,000.
