Letter to the editor: Campaign may be over, but work remains to be done
The election has come and gone and I want to take a moment and say thank you to those who supported me and the message of getting back to work.
The election has come and gone and I want to take a moment and say thank you to those who supported me and the message of getting back to work.
I extend my best wishes for Rep. Kieffer as she takes on a second term representing Woodbury. There will be a lot of hard work getting Minnesota back on track. Working together to help all of our communities, we can make Minnesota a leader in education and health care.
While election night was bittersweet for me, I was pleased to see that both of the constitutional amendments were rejected by Minnesota voters. With this put to bed, we have restored the Minnesota tradition of working together. As the late Paul Wellstone said, “We all do better when we all do better.”
I congratulate my colleagues, Susan Kent and JoAnn Ward on their victories and look forward to their leadership in the Minnesota Senate and House of Representatives. I look forward to supporting their efforts.
I told our supporters on election night that I will continue to work on the issues that impact our families. I will still organize and be active in our community advocating for the best education for our children and quality and affordable health care for all Minnesotans.
I wish you all a wonderful and peaceful holiday season with friends and family.
And again, thank you for your encouragement and support.
Ann Marie Metzger - Woodbury
